Van Dieman's Ink is a small family business nestled in the heart of Tasmania. Peter and Belinda, a husband and wife team, began their business with a simple idea - to create a range of inks that capture the essence of Tasmania's diverse landscapes and unique flora and fauna. Today, their inks are loved by fountain pen enthusiasts, artists, and hobbyists around the world. Handcrafted in small batches, using 95% Australian ingredients and a family recipe honed over the years. Their chemistry background has helped to create inks with unique characteristics - high or low saturation, wet or dry, shimmered or un-shimmered. They take pride in being a small, Australian-owned business that values authenticity, craftsmanship, and a love for nature.

We are very proud at Flywheel to have collaborated with Van Dieman’s Ink on a collection of fountain pen inks that are as much a tribute to history as they are a celebration of artisanal craftsmanship. This exclusive collection, born out of a shared passion for heritage and aesthetics, features three unique colours: Printing Press Grey, Type Cabinet Green, and Rust Brick Red.
